i received an emergency call from an ex-colleague, asking for help on a freelance job — a test drive event concept with Mercedes.
it wasn’t exactly an upper-hand offer; it was more like an SOS signal, since I’ve always been known as a creative who could sort out the unconventional.
6 months before being pulled into this brief, I had stumbled into an Art & Culture Event Planning course with a former mentor from 2015, who had been pursuing her event planning career for over a decade, carrying quite a rich portfolio under her belt.
and 6 months before that, a collaboration with District Eight happened, a luxury furniture brand fond of prestigious cross-cultural events — the kind of vibe they rely on to sell themselves. i was simply used to this atmosphere to be able to walk in audiences' shoes for Mercedes's brief.
everything happens for a reason.

that’s why I could survive this brief — despite the entire Creative & Media Planning department of Golden Communication rejecting it, out of fear of change and the unknown, i suppose.
